After a couple of weeks of miserable weather and conditions that gave us a glimpse of how teams handle adversity, Friday finally looks like a great evening for football. As league play starts for most conferences in Ohio everyone should feel good about their mental toughness. That should make for some intense battles the rest of the way. Here’s what’s in store heading into Week 4 of the season:
RANKINGS – OHIO DI
There was very little movement in the poll this week outside of #4 Moeller falling two spots. The most interesting thing about the Week 4 slate are the teams that aren’t in the poll but knocking on the door. Miamisburg, Sycamore and Lakota East all gets shots at ranked squads on Friday night… COMPLETE RANKINGS
RANKINGS – OHIO DII-DIII
A second straight loss by #2 Trotwood-Madison has #1 La Salle back in the top spot. The Lancers get the daunting task of trying to beat Scott County (KY) on the road. Last week, Scott County made the 85-mile trip up I-75 and outlasted then Division I #2 Moeller, 10-7. The schedule will see a pair of games against ranked teams on Friday night as #9 Sidney hosts #2 Trotwood-Madison and #8 Kings entertains #5 Anderson… COMPLETE RANKINGS
RANKINGS – OHIO DIV-DVII
A huge win by then #10 Aiken over then #3 Indian Hill last Friday has reshuffled the rankings. The victorious Falcons jump up 5 spots. The loss dropped the Braves three spots. The other CMAC school, #4 Taft is also up two notches in the poll. Things won’t get any easier for #7 Roger Bacon. The Spartans next three tilts are versus larger Division III league rivals who are a combined 7-2… COMPLETE RANKINGS
RANKINGS – NKY
It all looks so easy for #1 Covington Catholic who picked up its 19th straight win (all by 21 points or more). The Colonels now get #4 Beechwood in their annual rivalry game. The Tigers are coming off a heartbreaking road loss to the Redhounds of Corbin. Outside of the top five the rest of the teams in the poll are stilling trying to find out what their identities are….
