2021 Snapshot: Tippecanoe
- Updated: May 25, 2021
Now that Tippecanoe has reestablished its winning ways under head coach Matt Burgbacher expect this train to do nothing but pick up steam year-in and year-out. Last fall, the Red Devils made it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and won their first postseason game in five years. Now the program looks to expand upon that prosperity.
“We have to replace some great seniors from last year. We have the guys to do it, but they lack that Friday night experience. The sooner we can get them ready, the better off we will be. We lack depth now, but we will be able to build on this as the year progresses,” Burgbacher states.
He goes on, “we are excited to get the 2021 season started. We hope to have things back to normal as soon as possible, 2020 was a rough year for everyone, but our young men handled it greatly.”
Like all of his previous stops, Burgbacher’s team’s successes have been predicated on them adhering to the work that needs to be put in, in order to be champions. That is coming to fruition with this group of Red Devils as well.
“Our biggest strength will be the leadership of our senior class. This will be their third year with us. They have learned from the previous classes ahead of them. We have seen great accountability, discipline, and responsibility from our guys this offseason,” He says.
Tippecanoe will play with a relentless motor. Nobody is going to want to face them come November. The Red Devils are going to be a force and a factor in 2021.
