2022 Snapshot: Cincinnati Country Day
- Updated: March 29, 2022
Things are back on track at Cincinnati Country Day and the train appears to be moving full steam ahead. Covid and lack of able bodies wasn’t enough to bring down this ever-prideful football program over the past few seasons. Excitement will be frenzied on campus come August as the Nighthawks return nine starters on both sides of the ball from last year’s league championship and playoff team.
Cincinnati Country Day defense will need to step up against tougher competition if it wants to make a postseason run. The Nighthawks allowed 44.3 points per game in their three losses a year ago. In their seven victories they gave up just 7.7 points per contest.
The offense could be even better than the one that averaged 36.9 points per game last fall. That’s bad news for CCD foes.
The schedule is conducive to having another successful season. The Nighthawks opponents were a combined 27-60 (.310 winning %) in 2021. They will face only one team that had a winning record and seven squads that won three games or less. Take care of business and CCD will make back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since 2014-15.
Division VI, Region 24
2021 RECORD: 7-3, 4-0 MVC Gray
COACH: Dennis Coyle (9-16 at Cincinnati Country Day, three years; 56-74 overall, 13 years)

On offense, he ran for 211 yards, had nine receptions for 251 yards and found the end zone eight times (five rush, three rec). He was named Second Team All-Southwest District (LB) for his efforts.
Kyle Collett, Sr, RB/DB – Will play a key role on both sides of the ball. Collett had 23 receptions for 181 yards, one touchdown catch, 27 total tackles, one fumble recovery and an interception on his way to First Team All-MVC Gray accolades as a junior.
Colin Heekin, Sr, LB – One of the senior leaders for the Nighthawks defense. Heekin was a First Team All-MVC Gray selection in 2021. He has 70 total tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in his career.

Patrick Ramage, So, OL/DL – A talented athlete who causes much havoc on defense. Ramage was named Second Team All-MVC Gray after getting in on 61 total tackles and picking off a pass as a freshman.
Lee Thomas, So, RB/DB – Will be a focal point of what should be a very potent CCD offense. Thomas was named Second Team All-MVC Gray after running for 401 yards and five scores. He also had 19 total tackles and an interception on defense.
Carson Yackey, Jr, OL/DL – A returning starter on both sides of the line. Yackey was named Second Team All-MVC Gray last season. He has 57 total tackles, 3.0 sacks and a fumble recovery in his career.
Parker Corbin, Jr, RB/DB – A productive player in all phases of the game. Corbin is a two-time Honorable Mention All-MVC Gray performer. He heads into his junior year with 963 all-purpose yards (519 rush, 155 rec, 289 ret), 159 yards passing, 17 receptions, one passing touchdown, two receiving touchdowns and 11 rushing touchdowns on offense. Defensively, Corbin has 47 total tackles and three takeaways (two INTs, one FR) in a CCD uniform.
