2025 TSF Cincinnati Team of the Year: Anderson

Despite having to replace 10 starters on offense Anderson still managed to finish the regular season undefeated and Division II state runner-up to Avon for a second straight year. They also won a third consecutive regional title (fifth in school history). That amazing work saw Anderson be named the 2025 TriState Football Cincinnati Team of the Year for as TSF paid tribute to the area’s finest from Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Southeast Indiana at the TriState Football Year in Review Show on Monday night, in front of a packed house at the Holy Grail in downtown Cincinnati.

Always known as an offensive juggernaut under head coach Evan Dreyer it was the Anderson defense that made great strides in 2025. The Raptors only allowed 15.1 points per game and held eight foes to 10 points or less. Six players had at least 7.5 tackles for losses led by Brady Kuhn who had an ECC best 28.5 TFLs. Five players had at least two interceptions.

It was another explosive offensive season for Anderson. The Raptors averaged 42.7 points per game, had 80 offensive touchdowns (46 rec, 34 rush), amassed 6,876 yards of offense, 458.4 yards per contest (346.1  pass, 112.3 rush).

Quarterback Owen Scalf fell 39 yards short of becoming the eighth player in Ohio history to throw for more than 5,000 yards in a season. The junior finished the year with 4,961 yards and 41 touchdowns passing as well as 677 yards and eight touchdowns rushing. He accounted for more than 300 yards of total offense in every contest. Scalf set a record for most yards passing in a Division II state championship game with 377 against Avon. Four Anderson receivers had at least 70 receptions and 700 yards receiving – Tyson Weaver (91 rec-1,375 ReYds-20 ReTDs, all tops in the ECC), Cooper Kathman (90-1,158-8), Tegan Jallick (78-920-6) and Jordan Davis (76-743-4). Davis also led the ECC in points scored with 178 (25 TDs, 14 2-pt conv).

Hidden yardage played a huge role in Anderson’s success. The Raptors amassed 1,104 return yards (708 KRs, 540 PRs, 231 IRs) amounting to 98.6 return yards per game. That also led to nine scores with Ke’Maury Tye and Mark Madden each returning three punts for touchdowns and three pick sixes by the defense.

FUN FACT: Over the past two seasons Anderson has more than twice as many wins (29) than they have punts (14).
