Being around the Colerain players you would never know that they were mired in the area’s longest losing streak at 22-games. The Cardinals have embraced new head coach Jordan Stephens, absorbed his confident swagger and are believing in his team motto’s “The Rain Will Reign Again” and “New Era, New Standard.” “We are going to shock some teams,” Stephens states. La Salle better be very wary of what awaits them in Week 1. Colerain is out to avenge its pains of the last two seasons.

Division I, Region 4
2024 RECORD: 0-10, 0-9 GMC
COACH: Jordan Stephens (0-0 at Oak Hills, first year; 23-14 overall, three years)
TOP RETURNEES
Donovan Chambers, Sr, WR – Will see his role expand in the passing game this fall. Chambers had 13 receptions for 128 yards in seven games last season. He has picked up offers from Defiance and Central State.
Gavin Kullgren, Sr, TE/DE/LS – Versatility is what makes Kullgren such a huge commodity for this Cardinals squad. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Kullgren has an offer from Defiance.
Ferlando Roland, Sr, MLB – A returning starter and leader of the defense. Roland has 59 tackles and 5.0 tackles for losses in 15 career games.
Jawuan Hopgood, Sr, DB – Was solid in his first season as a starter. Hopgood was in on 29 tackles, had 3.0 tackles for losses and an interception in 2024.
Jayden Cook, Sr, DB – Does a nice job of attacking the play and should have a monster senior campaign. Cook tallied 22 tackles, 4.5 tackles for losses and three passes defended last season.
Joseph Crooks, Jr, DB – Teams with Hopgood and Cook to give the Cardinals a solid core in the secondary. Crooks had 25 tackles and five passes defended as a sophomore.
Trevon Smith, Jr, WR – Look for Smith to thrive over the next two years as receivers usually put up big numbers in Stephens offense scheme. Smith had 30 receptions for 324 yards and a kickoff return for a touchdown a year ago.

NEWCOMERS
The sophomore class has all the makings of being special. Their success will play a major role in the resurrection of this program. The group is led by 6-foot-4 QB Roman Garr, ATH Malachi Smith, OT/DE Marquise Lindsey-Johnson and WR/DB and WR/DB Desean Flagg Jr.. Garr has yet to throw a pass in a varsity game but he already has FCS offers from Southern Illinois and Indiana State.
