CINCINNATI, Ohio – The McNicholas Rockets closed out the regular season in dramatic fashion, knocking off previously unbeaten Badin 17-10 in a thrilling GCL Co-Ed showdown Friday night. The victory not only snapped the Rams’ 9-0 start but also locked the Rockets into the Division III, Region 12 postseason field.

Trailing 10-0 in the second half, Badin rallied to even the score before McNicholas delivered the knockout blow. Senior running back Zayden Harvey powered into the end zone from short range with 9:31 remaining to put the Rockets back in front. The defense did the rest — stopping the Rams at the 10-yard line in the final minutes and batting down a last-second pass at the goal line as time expired.
It marked McNicholas’ first win over Badin since 2017 and their biggest statement of the season. The Rockets finish the regular season 6-4 and are projected by JoeEitel.com to enter the playoffs as the No. 8 seed in Region 12, setting up a potential home matchup next week.
Badin, now 9-1, had already clinched a first-round bye and is expected to land as the No. 3 seed in Region 12. The Rams will regroup and rest up as they await their postseason opponent.
