2021 Video Snapshot: Moeller
- Updated: August 9, 2021
It has been a rough stretch for Moeller. The Crusaders are just 5-18 dating back to October 13th, 2018. Their last GCL South win was the week before that.
Moeller looks to reverse its fortunes under second year head coach, Mark Elder. Last season the Crusaders got a jump on that turnaround by winning their first playoff game since 2014. Elder believes there are more good moments ahead for his team.
Division I, Region 4
2020 RECORD: 3-6, 0-3 GCL South
COACH: Mark Elder (3-6 at Moeller, one year; 3-6 overall)
HONOR ROLL
Josh Kattus, Sr, TE – One of the top tight ends in Ohio. Kattus had 23 receptions, 288 receiving yards and a team high four touchdowns catches in 2020. He was named OPSWA Division I First Team All-Ohio and First Team All-TriState Football for his efforts. Kattus has verbally committed to Kentucky.
Player Spotlight: Josh Kattus
Ivan Anderson, Sr, LB – One of the leaders of the Crusaders defense. Anderson had 65 total tackles and one-and-a-half sacks on his way to Second Team All-GCL South accolades in 2020. Anderson has an offer from Army.
Brandon White, Sr, WR – Injuries limited White to just three games a year ago. He will be a huge factor in the Crusaders offense this fall. White has offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Marshall and West Virginia.
Tennel Bryant, Jr, WR – Proof that good things come in small packages. Bryant led Moeller with 33 receptions, 481 receiving yards and had three touchdown catches as a sophomore. He was named Second Team All-GCL South.
OTHER RETURNEES
Jackson Garrett, Sr, DL – The anchor of the defense. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Garrett has 38 total tackles in a Crusaders uniform. He has offers from Dartmouth and Penn.
Gabe Goins, Sr, RB – Will play a pivotal role out of the backfield both running and catching the football. Goins has 264 yards and three touchdowns in nine career games.
Chase Brown, Sr, DE – All signs point to a big senior season for Brown. He has three-and-a-half sacks at the varsity level.
Alec Weeder, Jr, RB/slot/RS – The 5-foot-5, 150-pound Weeder is an absolute beast on special teams. As a sophomore, he amassed 680 return yards, averaged 31.4 yards on 18 kickoff returns and 13.4 yards per punt return and had a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown at St. Xavier.
Jordan Marshall, So, RB – Is primed for a breakout 2021 campaign. Marshall had 285 all-purpose yards and ran for 131 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman.
