This is the ninth year of football for West Clermont. The Wolves have been to the last five playoffs (six overall) but have yet to win a game in the postseason. The program is now well positioned to finally get past Week 11.
“We’re excited about our core returners and senior class. We feel really strongly about our senior class and their leadership ability. We think they can help us take the next step and continue to build on the growth we’ve made in the last year,” head coach Ben Moorman states.
Last fall, Moorman reshaped West Clermont’s personality in his first year at the helm. The Wolves are going to play smash-mouth football on offense with their rushing attack. Defensively they are going to come at opponents with relentless aggression and pressure.
“On offense, we will lean on the run game again this year with two returning starters on the offensive line and a 1,400 yard running back from a year ago, in Landon Young. On defense, we’ll look to play fast and physically and create problems for the opposition by being multiple in our fronts and simple in our coverage concepts,” Moorman says. The Wolves will lean on that simplicity in the secondary early on with all first year starters in the group.
West Clermont has a challenging start to its schedule. The Wolves first four opponents were a combined 41-11 (.788 winning %) in 2024. The final six tilts will be versus squads who were a combined 24-43 (.359 Winning %) with Winton Woods the only foe that finished above .500 a year ago. This slate sets up West Clermont to be tough, tested and well polished by the time the playoffs start. Expect nothing less than the Wolves to end their postseason futility.
