No. 6 ST. XAVIER 28, No. 10 LA SALLE 3
St. Xavier and LaSalle were each still in search of their first Greater Catholic League win of 2025 going into Friday night’s battle at St. Xavier, and it was the Bombers who finally notched that much-needed victory with a 28-7 win over the Lancers.
A defensive first half by both squads saw the Bombers take an early 3-0 lead on a 35-yard field goal by Owen Davidson, but LaSalle answered on a 30-yard touchdown strike from Avier Carter to Naseer Salaam and took a 7-3 lead into the half.

The third quarter saw St. X closed the deficit to one on a 37-yard field goal by Davidson, but the Bombers were at risk going into the fourth quarter of losing their third straight GCL game.
The floodgates opened in the fourth quarter, however, as St. X reeled off 22 unanswered points – led by three touchdown passes by quarterback Jackson Frey – to capture the victory.
It’s the sixth consecutive loss by the Lancers to St. X. in the annual “King of the Road” battle.
St. X moves to 6-2 on the season, 1-2 in the GCL, while LaSalle falls to 5-3 on the season, 0-3 in the GCL.
