2022 Snapshot: Bethel-Tate

Bethel-Tate LB Nolan Darnell

What a mark the Class of 2022 left on the Bethel-Tate program. They graduated having won the schools only three playoff games (over the last two season), had back-to-back undefeated SBAAC National titles and left with 11 consecutive divisional victories. Those Tigers suiting up this fall have plenty to build upon with such a solid foundation being laid. Now it is their turn to forge a legacy for this program on the rise.

“Experience looks to be something that could be considered a weakness for us. However, many games last season we found ourselves in a running clock situation. Many of our “inexperienced” players have played some quarters of varsity football. Our players understand that playing as back-ups at the end of a game is much different than being a starter. Our young guys and seniors are excited to earn their spots on Friday nights,” head coach Jeff Essig states.

It is one thing to have a bit of success, it’s quite another to maintain and expand on those accomplishments. The core returning for Bethel-Tate is relatively young. The coaching believes the examples set by those that came before them have been engrained into these Tigers and new leaders will emerge. Expect that to happen and it will be the reason why the school makes the playoffs for a school record third consecutive year.

Austin Brookenthal, Sr, WR/DE – Has a long frame at 6-foot-5 that causes torment on the edges for Bethel-Tate’s opposition.
