Best Bets: Week 10

We have made to the final week of the 2025 high school football season. Week 10 is here and as wild as it may sound, there is still a lot to play for this week. Teams are jockeying for the highest seed possible in the postseason while others could use another win to give themselves a shot at meeting week 11 face to face. Momentum is quite possibly the most important factor that teams are playing for as they would love to take ole uncle Mo with them as they try and attain a state title.  It’s go time.

Last week Badin, CCD, Anderson, and Taft strengthened their case for a top seed. This week teams will be looking to do the same. Middletown travels south down I-75 to tangle with Princeton. Winton Woods looks to bounce back with a win at Lebanon. McNicholas makes the trek to Hamilton to play rival Badin and over in Kentucky, Simon Kenton takes on Ryle in Union. Who will be riding high heading to the postseason? Finale fireworks ahead. Here are the Best Bets for week 10.

#18 Middletown at #4 Princeton

Middletown is coming off a disappointing loss to rival Hamilton in which they could not get anything going offensively in terms of points. Middletown moved the ball but couldn’t cash in when it mattered. The Middies will continue to look to Jastin Bourne and JoJo Ward at the quarterback position to give their offense the best chance at making the big play. Defensively CJ Bryant will be relied upon to continue his efforts as one of the best tacklers in the area.

Princeton blanked Fairfield last week and continue to look like a serious threat to make a run in the playoffs. The Vikings have been explosive as they have multiple players with big play ability. Zion Neal has made those types of plays all season long. He has rushed for 605 yards and 10 touchdowns and is electric as a return man. Andrew Wells and Terrance Jones have been defensive playmakers.

Athletes will be all over this field. Bet on Princeton to take care of business.

#7 Winton Woods at #19 Lebanon

The Warriors narrowly fell to Anderson last week but the good news is that their offense got going and made some plays. Bryshawn Brown is the unquestioned leader of this team at quarterback. He’s thrown for almost 1,800 yards and 14 touchdowns mostly to Jon’ir Travis (48 rec, 776 yds). Jayvion McKinney-Cooper disrupts opposing offenses night after night.

Lebanon has been a formidable team all season and are safely into the playoffs. The Warriors are all fight and grit and never an easy out. Luke Faler has thrown 21 touchdowns against only one interception for the offense. Logan Schmenk is an underrated threat at tailback and Daniel Wallace can really get open at wide receiver. The Warriors have threats at all three levels. On defense, Hunter Davis and Jack Sako are top two in the league in interceptions.

An upset would not surprise here but bet on Winton Woods to pull one out on the road.

McNicholas at #14 Badin

McNicholas dropped a tough one to Fenwick last week as they could not muster enough offense to pull through. Quarterback Evan Sandfoss led the team in passing and rushing and they’ll look for a big time effort from him this week to try and pull the road upset. Defensively Josh Charron recorded 19 tackles last week and a similar effort will be required to slow down the Badin offense this week. Some explosive plays from the likes of TE Connor Powderly would go a long way for the Rockets as well.

Badin executed when it mattered to push past Alter a week ago in a vintage GCL clash. Lem Grayson was once again a major factor both offensively and defensively. He rushed for over 80 yards and had a game sealing interception. The Rams will continue to rely on a solid running game and stingy defense as they look to complete an unblemished regular season. Alex Pate and Alex Albrinck will look to continue to lead a great defense.

Badin has looked the part of a championship team. Bet on the Rams this week.

Simon Kenton at #12 Ryle

Both squads come in at 5-3 and are looking to secure the top seed in the upcoming 6A, District 6 playoffs. For the Pioneers, the Grant Webb to Landon Broan connection has been working well in the passing game. Defensively SK will need to do their best to stop the run and put Ryle in obvious passing situations.

Jacob Savage has been the guy on both sides of the ball for the Raiders. He has rushed for 809 yards and has 74 tackles so far this season. Evan Kincaid has been an interception magnet recording five of his six INTS over the last three weeks.

Ryle has looked good as of late. Bet on the Raiders to secure the win.
