DeWeaver’s journey began four years ago at Trotwood-Madison. He began throwing touchdown passes for the Rams varsity squad before he ever stepped inside a high school classroom. The lean and lanky freshman helped lead Trotwood-Madison to the state championship game for a third straight season as they focused in on a back-to-back titles. The Rams fell in the final to Toledo Central Catholic, 16-12.

As a sophomore DeWeaver was appointed as one of the Rams team captain and he embraced the leadership role like a veteran. DeWeaver guides the school to another state runner-up finish. He was named Division III Second Team All-Southwest District after throwing for 2,265 yards and accounting for 27 touchdowns (21 passing, six rushing). In his junior campaign Trotwood-Madison would win its fifth consecutive Regional championship but fell in the state-semi-finals (round of four) to playoff nemesis Toledo Central Catholic, again. DeWeaver earned Division III Second Team All-Ohio honors as he threw for 1,640 yards and accounted for 31 scores (24 passing, seven rushing).

Shortly after the 2014 season ended DeWeaver decided to transfer to Division I Wayne for his senior year and put his skills up against the best in Southwest Ohio and beyond. The Warriors were coming off a trip to the state finals as well but lost a very talented and experienced group upperclassmen. How DeWeaver would fit in was the question weighing on everyone’s mind. Ego was never a factor for DeWeaver or his teammates as Wayne won 14 in a row including an impressive playoff run that put them back in the finals versus St. Edward. The Warriors would fall to the Eagles in the finale for a second straight year. DeWeaver was sensational guiding the ship for the 14-1 Warriors. He threw for 2,924 yards with 32 touchdown tosses and only four interceptions and was a Division I Second Team All-Southwest District selection.

Although he never won a state championship in three opportunities DeWeaver’s post-season merits are quite noteworthy. He owns four Regional title rings and went a combined 15-4 as a starter under center in playoff games.

The 6-foot-3, 202 pound DeWeaver has committed to play his college football at Michigan State. In four years of high school football DeWeaver threw for 7,660 yards with 90 passing and 16 rushing touchdowns. His teams went a combined 49-9 with him at quarterback.
