Blitz 5 Top 25: Week 1 Update

Only a handful of ranked teams were in action in Week 0. The only movement in the Blitz 5 Top 25 presented by TriStateFootball.com was Ryle falling from #22 to #25 after being shutout by Covington Catholic. Five interceptions aided CovCath in the win.

Simon Kenton freshman quarterback Chase Crone looked like a seasoned veteran running for two touchdowns and throwing for another in the Pioneers’ victory. Senior running back Erik Brown chipped with a career high 198 yards rushing and a score for the victors.

In Indiana, East Central went on the road and took down rival Lawrenceburg in front of a standing room only crowd in last week’s Blitz 5 Tour stop. Junior Jake Fike carried the ball 16 times for 175 yards with two 53-yard touchdown runs for the Trojans.
